There are a number of 7 week Beginners’ Courses held during the year, which cost $105 per course (2021 price) per person. The courses are aimed people 14 years and over that have never fenced before or are returning to fencing after a period of time.
The fee covers all the fencing specific equipment you will need for the 7 weeks. By the end of the course you will know whether you like the sport or not. Should you wish to continue fencing after the course you will need to join the club as a member and pay a registration fee to the state association, Fencing WA. Cavaliers fee information can be found on our page. If you choose to not initially purchase your own equipment there is an equipment hire fee. Our registrar, will be able to give you more details at the club.
Registration and payment for the course is all managed online. Numbers are currently capped at 10, get in early to reserve your spot! To register please click on the link next to the beginners course that is starting next. If you would like more details please email the secretary

The venue boasts a non-slip high-tech floor surface, excellent lighting, a fitness centre, change room facilities and an undercover car park. If you want to find out more about what is offered by the Mt Lawley Sport and Fitness Centre, visit http://www.ecu.edu.au/fas/sport/
The carpark will be open until the building has been vacated. The south facing door, leading from the centre onto the Mt Lawley SHS site, is closed after 3pm. This means you will not be able to access the flight of stairs leading to the car park at that end.
What to wear
You need to wear long pants and sport shoes; all fencing specific equipment is included in the course fee for the 7 weeks.
For safety reasons shorts that are above the knees and jeans are not acceptable for fencing. If you are wear either we reserve the right to exclude you from the fencing session.
